Kim Novak, LCSW is the creator and President of the non-profit CORE Trauma Healing Center, Inc. She also maintains her private practice, WhiteHawk, LLC.
Kim is a holistic trauma therapist who blends many traditional psychotherapy methods (psychodynamic, attachment, ego state, internal family systems, cognitive behavioral, etc.), the most current neurological-psychological research findings, and alternative, research based approaches (including EMDR, Emotional Freedom Technique, Body Therapy, mindfulness and hypnosis ). She creates a safe space for healing at our core by releasing pain, creating wholeness within and connecting deeply in relationship.
Kim specializes in trauma therapy for issues related to childhood abuse, combat trauma, crime victimization, loss and bereavement, domestic violence, medical trauma and other painful experiences. She treats complex trauma, Post Traumatic Stress and Dissociative conditions including DID. She has worked extensively with Veterans, Police, SWAT, Fire Fighters, EMTs, Educators, and Medical Professionals with occupational trauma. She also specializes in individual, couples and family therapy for issues related to relationships and marital conflicts, crisis, separation, parenting, communication problems, intimacy issues, family conflict and other relational issues.
Kim is certified as a Level 2 EMDR practitioner. EMDR therapy is provided for fast and effective resolution of trauma and is approved by the US Department of Defense and Department of Veterans Affairs, the American Psychiatric Association and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies.
Kim is certified in the Colin A. Ross Institute's Trauma Model Therapy and is a member of the ISST-D (International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation).
Kim is certified in Clinical Hypnotherapy for treatment of depression, anxiety, trauma and substance abuse, as well as for achieving healthy living goals such as self confidence, stress management, relaxation, and pain management.

About Kim Novak, LCSW
Kim is a licensed psychotherapist with over 25 years experience in treating children, youth and adults. Kim brings a holistic approach to her practice. She has practiced in youth serving agencies, psychiatric hospitals and community clinics. Additionally, she has worked in the fields of prevention, policy and planning and social activism. Kim has worked as a trainer and presenter on the local, state and national level. She has served on the board of directors for the Connecticut Youth Services Association and was honored with an award for her work with youth from the New England Consortium for Families and Youth. Participating with all major insurance companies. Kim is a civilian community contractor for the VA Choice program. Also participating with EAP services for many police departments and first responder employers. Services are often covered as out-of-network for other insurers. Please contact me for more information. A sliding fee is offered for those who are without insurance and paying out of pocket.
